Academic information:

S.S.Institute of Nursing Sciences is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences Karnataka and KSDNEB (Karnataka State Diploma in Nursing Examination  Board) with a intake permission for 60 seats of B.Sc., Nursing and         60 seats of GNM from Indian Nursing Council & KNC for the year 2012-2013.

                                                                        

A.   Candidate seeking admission to 1st year Basic B.Sc., nursing course. 

i.        Shall have passed two year pre university examination conducted by department of Pre-University Education, Karnataka State/Boards/Councils/Intermediate examination established by State Governments/Central Government and recognized as equivalent to 2 years pre university examination by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences/Association of Indian University (AIU), with English as one of the subjects and Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects.  The candidates shall have passed subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology individually also.

The selection of students to nursing colleges shall be based on merit provided that.

ii.       In case of admission on the basis of qualifying examination, a candidate for admission to Basic B.Sc., nursing course must have obtained not less than 50% marks taken together in physics, chemistry and biology, in the qualifying examination. 

The candidates should be 10+2  class with 45% aggregate in PCB and English ,for SC, ST and OBC 40% aggregate marks.

Age: the candidates should have completed 17 years of age on or before 31st day December of the year of admission.

Duration of the Course:

Every student shall undergo a period of certified study extending over 4 academic years from the date of commencement of his study for the subject comprising the nursing curriculum to the date of completion of the examination.  The four years course has been divided into

1.     I B.Sc., - 1st year

2.     II B.Sc., - 2nd year

3.     III B.Sc., - 3rd year

4.     IV B.Sc., - 4th year

B.   Candidate seeking admission to 1st year GNM., nursing course.

Eligibility Criteria :

 

  • Minimum and maximum age for admission to the GNM course will be 17 and 35 years respectively.  Years :  for ANM / LHV age is no bar.
  • Minimum Education - 10+2 class passed or its equivalent preferably with Science (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) subjects with aggregate of 45% marks.
  • Those who have cleared vocational ANM course (revised after 2001) from the school recognized by Indian Nursing Council.
  • Those who have undergone ANM training i.e., 1 years training should have passed 10+2 or its equivalent examination.
  • 10th pass and 2 years of ANM course (Revised) registered as ANM.
  • Admission of students shall be once in a year.
  • Students shall be medically fit.
  • In addition to the above, admission procedure can be laid down by the concerned State Council / Nursing Examination Boards (S.I.B.E., M.I.B.E., C.M.A.I.)

1. GNM                     - 1st year

2. II GNM                  - 2nd year

3. III GNM                 - 3rd year

4.     GNM. Internship   - 6 months
